	Drill Team Victory! Olive Vista's Drill Team tied for first place at the Beyond the Bell Drill Team competition on Saturday, December 10th. Congratulations to our Drill Team members and their coach, Ms. Banks, for all their hard work and dedication!
	CST Awards 2011! Students received medals and certificates recognizing their achievement on the Spring 2011 CSTs. Congratulations to all the award recipients!
	PSAT on Wednesday, October 12th Interested 8th grade students should sign up at the Student Store by Tuesday, October 11th. Go to the Counseling Office if you have any questions.
	8th Grade Awards Night Olive Vista honored 143 members of the class of 2011 who earned special recognition for their academic achievements.
	Drill Team Wins Again! Led by Ms. Banks, Olive Vista's Drill Team won first place in a drill team competition held on June 11th at El Monte High School.
	Whooping Cough Vaccination Reminder Requirements for the whooping cough vaccine have changed. For the 2011-2012 school year, all students starting 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades will need to have the Tdap vaccination, which prevents whooping cough, tetanus, and diphtheria.
	Olive Vista Drill Wins First Place at Beyond the Bell Competition Olive Vista's Drill Team won first place at the Beyond the Bell Competition on Saturday, May 7. Led by Ms. Banks, the Drill Team impressed the crowd with their synchronicity and precision.
	Olive Vista Prepares for CSTs! Kicking off the start of the annual California Standards Tests for the California STAR Program, Olive Vista students participated in a series of activities to help them show their learning on the annual state assessments.

	Olive Vista Junior Journalists report from the Staples Center On January 29, 2011 Olive Vista students Elizabeth Fausto and Adela Chavez got to experience being a real journalist during an LA Clippers game at the Staples Center. Elizabeth Fausto received her press pass for the evening and observed the game from the Press Box in the Staples Center. Read about her experience!
