June 8th--Last day to turn in library books!

All library books must be returned to the library by June 8th. Students are not charged fines for overdue materials, but are responsible for paying for lost and/or damaged materials.

Any 8th grade students must have cleared all library books and textbook prior to 8th grade culmination.

Proposed Dress Code for Olive Vista

The Olive Vista School Community is looking to implement a stricter dress code for its students for the 2012-2013 school year. We are requesting your input in this matter. We will collaborate with teachers, staff, and students to select the colors for this new dress code.

Changes:

Pants, skirts, and shorts must be solid black only (no stripes).
Boys' and girls' shirts must be either solid "UCLA blue," "USC burgandy," or white and must have a collar. Shirts, blouses, and tops must cover the top of the pants, skirt, or shorts.
All sweaters, vests, and/or sweatshirts (zipper/pullover) must be solid UCLA Blue, USC Burgandy, or white.
All leggings and/or tights must be solid black. Fishnet-like stockings or stockings with designs will not be allowed. Substituting leggings and/or tights for pants will not be permitted.

2010 School Experience Survey Results

Annually, LAUSD conducts a school experience survey. Teachers, students, and parents are all surveyed regarding their experiences with Olive Vista Middle School. Survey participants are asked about school involvement, opportunities for learning, school safety, parent involvement, and other categories.

For this year's survey, 1, 244 students, 125 parents, and 123 staff members responded.
